Christine Cohen has officially filed paperwork to run for re-election as our State Senator for Connecticut’s 12th District. In her announcement letter, Senator Cohen expressed what an honor it has been to serve the residents in the six towns she represents – Branford, North Branford, Guilford, Madison, Durham, and Killingworth – and her desire to continue as our advocate in Hartford:

“I have been working hard as your State Senator ensuring that our environment has an advocate, small businesses are heard, common sense gun safety proposals are passed, education is prioritized and each and every constituent issue that comes across my desk is addressed. However, I feel I have only just scratched the surface and there is so much more to be done. I would like the ability to delve deeper, get some outstanding pieces of legislation over that proverbial finish line and continue to bring your voices to Hartford.”

Senator Cohen will again be participating in the Citizen’s Election Program (CEP) which helps keep big money out of politics and allows candidates like Christine to run for elected office in Connecticut. The program requires that her campaign raise over $15,000 from over 300 individual donors to qualify for public funding. Please consider making a campaign contribution at this link, and encourage friends and family members to contribute separately to help Christine reach her fundraising goals.

Senator Cohen will be holding “office hours” in Madison on Friday, January 17 at the Madison Coffee House from 7:30-9:00 a.m.
