The Shoreline League of Democratic Women is hosting a panel event on Thursday, October 5 at the Guilford Free Library beginning at 7:00 titled, “A Forum: First Amendment Challenges Today.”

From the current battle over Internet Neutrality to attacks against journalists, forum panelists will discuss the beloved and enduring Constitutional Amendment that enables speech, expression, publication and the free flow of information.  This forum aims to help citizens gain a better understanding of the First Amendment and what is at stake.  Our distinguished panel will provide a substantive and provocative discussion of this timely issue from their own personal perspectives and issue advocacy viewpoints.

  • Candace Clement: Campaign Director for Free Press and Free Press Action Fund
  • Susan Campbell: Lecturer, Author, and Columnist at the Hartford Courant
  • Andy Schatz: Board President of the American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut

This event is free and open to the public.

The view and opinions expressed during this presentation will be those of the panelists, and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of the SLDW.
