BOS Meeting Discussion of Municipal Fracked Waste Ban with State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. and State Rep Noreen Kokoruda @ Meeting Room A, Madison Town Campus

State Senator Ted Kennedy, Jr. and State Representative Noreen Kokoruda will be attending Madison’s Board of Selectmen meeting on Monday, January 22 at 7:00 p.m. in Room A at Madison Town Campus. They come to address the topic of a fracked waste ban in Madison at the invitation of the Madison Board of Selectmen. This is a very important meeting for Madison residents to signal their positions on this issue to our Selectman and to our State legislators.

MDTC Special Meeting @ Madison Police Department, Community Room

The Madison Democratic Town Committee will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, February 7th at 7:30 pm in the Police Community Room.  The business of this meeting is to fill the recent vacancy on the Board of Education and to fill a number of other vacancies that Democrats hold on Madison’s boards and commissions.

Academy School Developer Workshop (Part 1) @ Walter C. Polson Middle School Auditorium

Academy School Madison CTWe encourage all concerned citizens to attend! This will be the first of two workshops being held at Polson Middle School as potential developers present their proposals to the Board of Selectmen and to the public. Developers will have 30 minutes to present and 30 minutes for a Question & Answer session. The intent of the workshops is to allow an opportunity for both the Board of Selectmen and the public to ask questions of the developers. The workshops will be recorded and available for future viewing on Madison Public Television.

Presentation Schedule:

  • 7:00 PM – RAL Development Services
  • 8:00 PM – Greylock Property Group

Copies of the written proposals can be found on the Madison Town website. Hard copies of the proposals are available in the Office of the First Selectman and at the Scranton Memorial Library.

Public Hearing on Academy School Proposals @ Walter C. Polson Middle School Auditorium

Academy School Madison CTThe Board of Selectmen will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 22nd at 7:00pm in the Polson Middle School auditorium to solicit feedback on the proposals with the goal of ranking the eligible pool of developers and eliminating one or more of the lowest ranking proposals.

Board of Selectman Meeting and Vote on Academy School Development Proposals @ Meeting Room A, Madison Town Campus

Academy School Madison CTThis is another stage in the process of determining the future development of the Academy School site.  During the Regular Board of Selectmen meeting, the Board will formally vote to eliminate one or more of the proposals and enter into a “due diligence” period with the remaining developers. This period is expected to last anywhere from several weeks to a few months.

This is another opportunity to make your voice heard!
