CT Shoreline Indivisible (CTSI) will be holding its monthly meeting this Saturday November 18 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Congregational Church in Guilford. The speaker is Jonathan Perloe. He will be speaking on Gun violence and gun control efforts in Connecticut.

The large group meeting and presentation will be followed by working group meetings in the following areas:

  • National Politics
  • State and Local Politics
  • Immigration
  • Health Care
  • The Environment

ACA Enrollment Event Sponsored by CT Shoreline Indivisible @ Branford Fire Department

Connecticut Shoreline Indivisible (CTSI) is organizing and hosting an Affordable Care Act (ACA) Enrollment Event on Sunday, December 10 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Branford Fire Department, 45 N. Main Street in Branford, CT.

Although the fight isn’t over, protecting the Affordable Care Act is one of the biggest grassroots achievements of 2017.  That means there are still affordable healthcare options for Connecticut residents to explore and sign up for in 2018.  This CTSI sponsored enrollment event will provide information and assistance to make sure that people can get the health coverage they need, and help keep the health care exchange in Connecticut alive and thriving.

Gun Violence Vigil on the Madison Green @ Madison Town Green/First Congregational Church, Madison

A Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence is being planned for Sunday, December 17 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on the Madison Town Green to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School and to call for an end to gun violence.  Gather with the people of Madison and others from our shoreline communities as we come together to show support for victim’s families and friends who have suffered tragic losses due to gun violence.  The vigil is being sponsored by faith communities and local organizations on the Shoreline.

Town of Madison CT DemocratsSAVE THE DATE – Democratic Town Committee Caucus Being Held On Thursday, January 11th to Elect Members in 2018 for a 2 Year Term

Madison Democrats will be holding a caucus to elect or re-elect 30 full voting members and 10 associate members to the Madison Democratic Town Committee.  This election happens every two years.  We elect our Town Committee through a town-wide Democratic Caucus that will be noticed in the paper and on our website.  All registered Democrats in Madison are welcome to attend and vote for Town Committee members.  The Nominations Committee will be proposing a slate of candidates for full and associate membership at the caucus, and nominations can be made from the floor.  If you are interested in serving on the Madison Democratic Town Committee, please contact Nominations Chair, Amanda Mitchell, or current MDTC Chair, Peggy Lyons.  MDTC members are expected to attend monthly meetings on a regular basis so we can conduct business, and actively work on campaigns and other Town Committee activities.

Save the date: Saturday, January 12, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.!  The MDTC will be holding a fundraiser for Congressman Joe Courtney as he prepares to run for re-election in 2018. Individuals interested in being on the Host Committee for this event should contact Peggy Lyons or Jim Ball. The Host Committee will donate the beverages and some food. We are asking MDTC members to attend, and possibly bring a dish.  More details to follow.
